To Our Respective School Teachers... ...

To,

Our Respective School Teachers,

Bangladesh.

Subject: Prayer for paying some attention.

Dear honorable teachers,

I beg most respectfully to state that, I am a voice of those so many students who cried during the time you punished them. I want you to know that, as a human being, everyone has a cruel side in everyone. But is it necessary to bring it up in front of innocent children? We take our first step to gather knowledge and be literally “human” when we enter a school. At that time, we all learn only those things that you teach us; including the out-of-text things. The funny thing is all of you behave as if the little students should know everything before coming to school! Excuse me; no one is born a scholar! That is why we are coming to schools! But you keep the students in huge pressure and treat them like “Zoo” animals. I bet the “Zoo Keeper” less misbehaves with the animals then you, the “teachers” do to the children. You should know that, the minds of school going children are like plane mirror glasses. That can hold the images you project and can be broken with a slight force. And the teachers are given the responsibility to “handle those with care”. Would you punish or torture your own children the same way? Or would you accept if anyone does so? A teacher should be like a father or mother to the students, who will guide, share, care and scold when needed. Can’t you just figure out the lacking of the student instead of beating him/her brutally like a senseless object? What seems more logical to you, hitting a six-year-old to death-bed or convincing him to be more attentive to studies? What sounds more sensible and fruitful to you?

May I, therefore, pray and hope that, you all would be kind enough to pay some attention and deal with more “Sense and Sensibility”. Let’s make the “noble” profession a real one.

I remain,

Sir/Madam,

Yours most obediently,

One of those terrified students of yours.
